Garden AI Assistant
TilthIQ's Garden AI is a conversational assistant powered by Google Gemini 2.0 Flash — a state-of-the-art AI model that understands plain English and knows your garden inside and out.
What Makes It Different
Unlike a generic chatbot, the Garden AI has live access to your actual garden data every time you send a message. Before it even reads your question, it already knows:
- Every planting you have, their status and location
- Today's weather at your location
- Your USDA growing zone, last frost date, and frost-safe planting windows
- Current moon phase (for biodynamic planting guidance)
- All your overdue and upcoming care tasks
- Your full seed inventory
- Crop rotation history for every bed
This means answers like "What should I plant in B2 right now?" are based on your actual garden — not generic advice.
What It Can Do
The AI has 23 specialized garden tools it can use to answer your questions and take action:
| Type | Count | Examples |
|---|---|---|
| Questions & Lookups | 13 tools | Find plants, check locations, review tasks, companion advice |
| Actions | 10 tools | Log plantings, record harvests, update status, complete tasks |
How to Access It
Click Garden AI in the top navigation bar. Type your question or command in the input field at the bottom and press Enter or the send button.
Free plan: 5 AI queries per day. Garden Pro and Garden Team subscribers get unlimited access.
It's Conversational
The AI remembers the last 6 messages in your conversation, so you can ask follow-up questions naturally:
You: Where are my peppers?
AI: You have 4 pepper plants in B3-B-1 through B3-B-4, all In Ground.
You: What should I plant near them?
AI: Good companions for peppers include basil, carrots, and marigolds...
It's Safe
Questions never change your data. If you ask "Do I have tomatoes?" it will look them up — it will never accidentally create a planting. Only explicit action phrases like "I planted tomatoes in B1-A-1" trigger data changes.
See Asking Questions and Recording Actions for complete examples.
